Downtown's diner since 1910, and the cheapest good breakfast in Branson. Come for the cinnamon roll — it's roughly the size of an adult's face and travels well for the drive home.

A genuine old-fashioned five-and-dime that's been on Main Street 60+ years and is a destination in its own right — candy, taffy, toys, farmhouse décor, oddities, and aisles you can lose an hour in. The downtown equivalent of the Dogpatch Store.
Closed Sundays. Prices run high on souvenirs — it's more fun to browse than to buy by the bag.
A modern lakefront main street on Taneycomo — 100+ shops and restaurants, a Bass Pro at one end, and a free fire-and-water fountain show synced to music and choreographed with flame cannons.
Fountain shows run on the hour/half-hour after dark; free parking to the north. The 4th of July 'Liberty Light Up' fireworks launch from here.

The special-occasion room, on the second floor of the Hilton at Branson Landing with a lake view. Wagyu strips, filet cooked to temp, a side-trio deal, and a Missouri butter cake people specifically come back for.
Priciest table in town and worth it. Reserve for dinner; they also do a quieter weekday breakfast service.

Bass Pro's waterfront fish house at the Landing — old-dock atmosphere, mounted bison, canoes overhead, and green-chile cornbread muffins that steal the meal. Fresh fish, fried chicken, cast-iron desserts.
The food is solid, not dazzling; you're paying for the lakeside setting. Ask for a water-side table.

The reliable sit-down at Branson Landing — pot roast, chicken-fried steak, salmon, a good Bloody Mary, and fast, friendly service. A safe group dinner when everyone wants something different.
Kitchen quality wobbles between visits (some nights bland). Order the roast or the fried items over the burger.
A vintage dome-car excursion out of the 1905 downtown depot, running 40 miles round-trip through Ozark trestles and tunnels toward the Arkansas line. Narration, live music, and a first-class charcuterie upgrade.
The 3.8 rating is almost entirely summer A/C complaints on the older cars — book a spring or fall departure and it's a lovely, low-effort couple of hours.
The five-mile neon spine of Branson. Nearly every theater, museum, and go-kart track is strung along it. It crawls after about 5:30pm — learn the color routes (Red/Blue/Yellow) and stay off 76 itself at showtime.

The highest-rated show in Branson, and it isn't close — a Broadway-scale biblical production on a 300-degree wraparound stage with live animals walking the aisles. The 2026 show is 'David'; the holiday run is 'The Christmas Story.'
Closed Sundays. Book aisle seats in the lower section, ~10 rows back, for the full sweep. Sells out — reserve early.

The big dinner-and-arena spectacle: 32 horses, trick riding, a friendly North-vs-South audience competition, and a four-course meal you eat entirely with your hands — no utensils, on purpose. Pre-show music and a saloon before they open the arena.
Seating is first-come by row, not assigned — arrive early to center up. The whole rotisserie-chicken-and-corn dinner is included in the ticket.
Worth booking
Six real-life brothers (the Knudsens) and not a single instrument on stage — every drum, bass line, and horn is a human voice. A full-band sound built entirely a cappella, now in its third decade. Genuinely startling live.
Shares the Pepsi Legends Theater complex. High-energy and family-friendly; a good pick when you want vocal-nerd impressive over glitz.
Worth booking
The tribute-artist show under the giant neon globe at the Pepsi Legends Theater — a rotating bill of impersonators (Elvis, the Blues Brothers, current country stars) backed by a live band. Song choices lean to the hits.
The VIP tier is individual tables with drink service. The Christmas edition gets singled out as the one to catch.

Home of the 'Grand Country Jubilee' (Mike Patrick MCs) and a well-loved gospel show — music and clean comedy at a fair price. It anchors the Grand Country Resort, which also has an indoor water park, mini golf, and a buffet.

The show that started the Strip — the Presley family opened the first music theater on Highway 76 in 1967, and they're still doing it: country, gospel, and rapid-fire cornball comedy (Cecil and Herkimer). The blueprint every other Branson show copied.

A multi-show house: Clay Cooper's own country-and-comedy variety, plus the runaway favorite — The Haygoods, a high-octane sibling act with wall-to-wall costume changes, instruments, and aerials. Dean Z's Elvis tribute also plays here.
The building is small and dated — the foyer and concessions jam at intermission. Worth it for the Haygoods; just don't dawdle getting a snack.

Branson's original show — the Mabe brothers started it in 1959, before there was a Strip. Old-school hillbilly comedy, country, and gospel, now performing inside the Hughes Brothers Theatre.
It's the historical root of everything else in town; see it for the lineage as much as the laughs. Same building as the Hughes Brothers show.
Worth booking
The Hughes family bills itself as the largest performing family in the world, and the stage backs it up — dozens of siblings and kids across 'ReVibe,' a multi-decade music-and-dance revue. Big voices, big sparkle, dinner-show option.
Closed Sundays. A genuinely all-ages crowd-pleaser; the youngest performers tend to steal it.

A two-header venue: 'Pierce Arrow Decades,' a high-energy trip through '50s–'80s music with tight harmonies and a veterans' tribute, plus illusionist Reza's touring-scale magic show. Recently relocated to the Reza Theatre.

Branson's newest big indoor attraction — touch tanks with sharks and rays, a walk-through tunnel, a mesmerizing jellyfish room, and a short 5D motion 'dive' ride to enter. Calm, well-designed, good info cards.
Buy tickets online in advance — it's cheaper and the front-desk website hand-off can glitch. Open late (till 10:30pm) as an evening backup plan.
The upside-down building on 76 — three floors of hands-on science: a bed of nails, hurricane shack, giant Etch-A-Sketch, bubble lab, and an indoor ropes course and coaster up top.
Lowest-rated of the big attractions (4.2) — busy and a bit worn. Best value for a rainy day with 6–12s; re-entry is allowed on your wristband.

An indoor-outdoor adventure park built for actually doing things — multi-story ropes courses, warehouse-scale climbing, tunnels, slides, ziplines, and a shipping-container maze. The best fun-per-hour in Branson for active families.

Silver Dollar City's tropical water park, right on the Strip — wave pool, lazy river, a handful of big slides, and a kids' area. Compact but well-run.
Small for the price and better for younger kids than thrill-seekers. Buy online, bring a cooler to the car (snacks are pricey), and skip the pricey lockers if you can.

Branson's go-kart institution — famous multi-story elevated wooden tracks (the 'Heavy Metal High Rise' is the one), plus bumper boats, mini golf, laser tag, kiddie rides, and the giant Branson Ferris Wheel (the former Navy Pier wheel).
The Unlimited Park Pass covers all four Track locations. It's spread across a parking lot — crossing in the dark gets chaotic, so a weekday afternoon is calmer.

A walk-in tropical conservatory with a thousand free-flying butterflies landing on you, plus a small rainforest, a critter corner, an emerald mirror maze, and a banyan-tree centerpiece. Peaceful and genuinely magical for little kids.
Your wristband is good for 3 days. Butterflies live ~2 weeks, so the mix changes with every shipment — no two visits are identical.

The singing-servers diner in Grand Village — your waiter drops the plate and belts a Broadway number, and several of them are legitimately good. Half-pound burgers, thick shakes, and family-size desserts.
You're here for the show as much as the food. Portions are enormous — split a dessert across the table.

A neon '50s diner doing funnel cakes, towering banana splits, and burgers. The ice cream and the vibe are the draw — most tables are there for a giant sundae after a day on the Strip.

Twenty minutes west of the Strip toward Table Rock Lake. Silver Dollar City anchors everything out here — plus the giant-pancake breakfast, an observation tower and outdoor drama, and a show cave in Branson West.

An 1880s Ozarks theme park built around a real show cave (Marvel Cave, beneath the park), with world-class coasters — Time Traveler, Outlaw Run, Wildfire, Mystic River Falls, the reimagined Fire In The Hole — woven through working craftsmen, cinnamon bread, and giant sausage skillets. Consistently rated America's best theme park.
2026 is the final season for Thunderation, the 1993 mine train — ride it while you can. Buy the two-day ticket (best value), use the free lot and shuttle, and grab a Trailblazer pass for busy days. Festivals reshape it all year: Bluegrass & BBQ (May), Harvest Festival with 20,000 pumpkins (Sept–Oct), and An Old Time Christmas with 6.5M lights.

The country breakfast on the way to Silver Dollar City, famous for pancakes that are literally bigger than the plate. Cozy, rustic, huge portions, breakfast served all day.

The historic homestead behind Harold Bell Wright's 1907 novel that put the Ozarks on the map — now a park with the 230-ft Inspiration Tower (elevator to a panorama), a Vigilante ZipRider off the tower, a mountain coaster locals rate the best around, and a long-running outdoor drama.
Read up on the novel first — visitors who go in cold find the outdoor play confusing. Book ZipRider and coaster time slots ahead in season.

A guided cave tour in Branson West — 100 ft down into a genuinely pretty cavern of flowstone and columns, run in small groups (max ~18) by guides who clearly love it. Above ground there's mini golf, a nature trail, and a kids' spelunking maze.
~50 minutes and 250+ stairs on uneven, sometimes-wet stone — skip it if stairs are hard. A calm escape from the Strip's crowds.
South on Highway 165, over the dam. The state park, the lake, a dinner cruise, and an alpine coaster down the mountain — the outdoors-and-water side of Branson.

The lake at its best — a paved shoreline hike-and-bike trail, a marina with boat and stand-up-paddleboard rentals, lakeside campsites and yurts, and swimming coves. Table Rock has more shoreline than the entire California coast.
Free to day-visit. The lakeshore trail is easy and stroller/wheelchair-friendly; sunrise over the water is the shot.
A free, surprisingly good Army Corps center perched over Table Rock Dam — hands-on exhibits on how the dam and lake were built, a pollinator trail, purple-martin houses, and the best walk-up view of the dam face.

A paddlewheel dinner cruise on Table Rock Lake — buttery-smooth sailing, a live variety show (the new Rivertown Ramblers for 2026), and a plated meal. Renamed and relocated in 2026 to sit closer to Silver Dollar City.
Closed Mondays. The Captain's tier (choose your entrée and dessert, comfier seats) is the upgrade people say is worth it. Book the 7:30pm sailing for sunset on the water.

A gravity-driven alpine coaster that winds down the Ozark hillside on rails — you control your own speed, kids can ride with a parent, and there's a zipline course and gem-mining sluice on site.

Hard Work U — a tuition-free college where students work campus jobs instead of paying, and graduate debt-free. A gorgeous, spotless campus you can tour: Williams Memorial Chapel, a working greenhouse, a mill, and a fruitcake-and-jelly kitchen.
Free to visit and quietly one of the most distinctive stops near Branson. Pair it with lunch at the Keeter Center on the same grounds.

Student-run farm-to-table dining at College of the Ozarks, and it's excellent — much of what's on the plate (and in the famous bread basket: cinnamon-cranberry biscuit, cornmeal-molasses roll, apple butter) is grown, milled, and baked on campus. Warm, earnest service.
Closed Sundays. Reserve for dinner; the coffee bar and scones are a great low-key morning stop on their own. A real hidden gem — locals send visitors here.
Twenty to thirty minutes south into Johnny Morris's conservation empire around Big Cedar Lodge. Clifftop sunsets, a cave you drive a golf cart through, and a canyon full of bison. The most scenic day-trips near Branson — and the furthest.

Johnny Morris's clifftop showpiece above Table Rock Lake. The draw is Lost Canyon Cave & Nature Trail — a 2.5-mile self-drive golf cart route past waterfalls and rock formations, out onto a skybridge, and straight through a four-story cave with a bar inside it. Up top: a stone chapel on the bluff edge and a 35,000 sq ft museum of Native American artifacts, Civil War relics, and Ice Age skeletons.
Time an Osage reservation for right around sunset. Do the self-drive Lost Canyon golf-cart tour even if you skip dinner — the in-cave bar is the whole point.

10,000 acres of the prettiest land in the Ozarks — crystal spring-fed streams, waterfalls, a Treehouse-Masters-built treehouse, and roaming bison, elk, and longhorns. Explore by tram tour, on foot or bike, on horseback, or with a fly rod in the trout streams. A Johnny Morris conservation showpiece.
